My entrepreneurial qualities

Three entrepreneurial qualities i have is, reliability, being a good team member and Leadership. I am reliable because i am able to be given a job or task to complete and i will achieve to aim high and will accomplish it to the highest of my ability. An example of this is when i was recently assigned many tasks on education perfect, during the holiday, and i completed them all, with 100%. Another one of my many entrepreneurial qualities is being a good team member. One of the many examples of when this quality was shown, was when i participated in the Mathematics Mathex competition last term, where me and my group now hold the school’s record, with 75 points. I contributed to the group by answering as many questions as i could and also was the runner for half the competition. I am able to show great leadership skills through my hardworking attitude and persistence i constantly show. I take all the opportunities i can get when presented with them and make sure the whole group is included in knowing what to do and how to do it. Being a leader takes dedication and confidence, which is something i take pride in having.

While creating this presentation i learnt about the Guarani people and their cultural significance towards the Amazon rainforest. I learnt that the guarani people were one of the first tribes to be contacted after the early Europeans arrived in the Amazon rain-forest, and it is believed that they were around as early as the 19th century, while others believe they have been around for over 500 years. One of the most significant threats these people have faced, is when their land in Mato Grosso do Sul state, Brazil, was taken from them due to masses of deforestation. Huge cattle ranches and sugar cane plantations were built in the Guarani’s land for Brazil’s biofuels market, but it has pushed the Guarani tribe out of their habitat and forced them to reside somewhere else. I believe this is one of the main reasons why the Amazon is culturally significant to them.

Tobacco is a product prepared from the leaves of the Tobacco plant, by curing them. Tobacco can be consumed by chewing it and smoking it in cigarettes and cigars.Tobacco is like any other drug, it can be used for many different reasons and can be highly addictive depending on how much you consume. Tobacco is one of the highest harming drugs in New Zealand. A study shows a lot of tobacco users smoke for reasons like stress relief, weight loss and relaxation. Another study shows people who start smoking in their teens, are addicted once they reach adulthood. Reasons for teens to smoke is for reasons like looking more mature especially around friends and experimenting. Tobacco is consumed in different ways because of how easily accessible it is, and therefore this reason gives people more ways to experiment with it, without it being illegal.

Conceptual Statement

In the context of Sustainability I will design and produce a Multi level game for the ages 8+ to be used to stop fights and solve issues/problems in the community (street fights in the Tamaki community) .

The reasons why a multi level game is an appropriate outcome for the ages 8+ is because it shapes the younger generation’s ideas towards fixing issues in families and groups, in other ways than physically fighting someone.  The following are a range of examples that demonstrates when the Multi level game has been effectively used to address similar issues relating to the context:

What is photosynthesis?

Photosynthesis is the process in which plants use, to convert the energy from the sun to make food for energy.

What are the substances required?

In order too carry this out, plants need not only sunlight, but also water and carbon dioxide. The food they make is called glucose, or better known as sugar. For Photosynthesis to occur, Plants need sunlight, Water, carbon dioxide and chlorophyll.

The word equation for photosynthesis is:

Carbon dioxide + Water ---> Glucose + Oxygen + Water.

Organelles are cell structures that work together to carry out life processes.

Cellular structure is the basic structural, functional and biological unit of all known living organisms. There are two types of plant cell structures. Animal cells and Pants cells. It is easier to tell apart a Plant cell because they have a protective structure called a cell wall that is made of cellulose. Plants have the wall and animals do not. Plants also have organelles such as, green chloroplast or large, water filled vacuoles.

The difference between living and nonliving things are that, Living things consist of cells, maintain homeostasis and can, move, grow, reproduce, feed, respire and die due to natural forces of life. Living things can also respond to environmental stimuli and excrete waste. Some examples of Living things are, humans, animals, birds, insects and plants. 

Non-Living

Non-living can not obtain or contain any of these characteristics, and do not have all of these cellular structures. The only way Non-living things can move is either by a living force or by living control. The only way Non-living things can die are if they either, break down, rust or is destroyed by living forces. Examples of Non-living things are a car, pencil, rock and a book.

Huora is the four dimensions of the Whare Tapa Wha. The Dimensions are Taha Tinana(Physical), Taha Hinengaro(Mental/Emotional), Taha Wairua(Spiritual) and Taha Whanau(Social). 

Social Media affects me socially by letting me communicate with friends and family overseas, which helps me exercise other ways of communication with others.
Attending Church allows me to praise the lord, which gives me spiritual strength and guidance.
Going for walks with friends and family affects me by allowing me to get exercise, which benefits me physically.
Listening to influential and inspirational music uplifts my thinking and mood, which affects me Mentally and Emotionally.

My e-portfolio, My blog and the year 10 Digitech Google+ Community

My e-Portfolio is going to be used to visually showcase the work that i will be doing in Technology, this year. My blog will be used to reflect on my learning in Technology. The year 10 DigiTech Google+ community, will be used to collaborate with other students about the work we completed in DigiTech. We will be developing a game relating to sustainability. We have been trialling a game to learn new skills in Scratch.

Summary: 'Exposure to bacteria at a young age'

Exposure to bacteria at a young age.

This summary is about new parents being too careful of their young children, being exposed to bacteria. This can cause a lot of things, like children not being able to process or digest the right foods properly. This means their system is not immune to bacteria and leads to their bodies, not knowing how to react when it's faced with it. Young/new parents need to understand the importance of letting kids go outside and getting a bit messy, its important for kids to get fresh air. They need to understand that this is actually healthy for kids and can benefit them especially in the future. So to all new parents, please do not hesitate if your kid gets a little bit dirty.

Science:Term 3 Reflection

What was a fun/interesting lesson you learn't last Term?

A lesson i really enjoyed was when we made those mini science experiments like the oobleck and the Science art. I really found it interesting how with only 2 ingredients you can make such an amazing science experiment. i also liked how we were taught about how the cornstarch and water reacted together to make both a liquid and a solid.

What have I learn't about HTML and CSS  in DigiTech?

i have used HTML and CSS when creating a website on Code Academy called, Ollie Bike Sharing. HTML is used when you want to insert images and tags. CSS is used when you want to style and design your documents on a website. I learn't that HTML and CSS is used to code websites and networks.

Something new i learnt in Algebra was that Parabola can be seen as a 'bowl'. I also learnt that if a line is sloping up it is a positive number, and if the line is sloping down it is a negative.

Reading Coordinates

During class today, i learn't about reading Coordinates, and how to locate points on a Coordinate Graph. I learn't that you must have 2 numbers to find a coordinate and the first number is always on the 'x' axis. A quote i always remember from primary is "x to the right and y to the sky".

Statistics

During the past few weeks I have learn't about Statistics and how to use and make graphs online. I learn't about Scatterplots, Box plots, time graphs and also Line graphs. We learn't about Two different types of Data which are, Quantitative and Qualitative. Quantitative data is shown through numbers and Quantity. Qualitative data is shown through descriptive ways and also the Qualities it shows. We also reviewed some Mean, Median and mode knowledge. I have really learn't a lot so far, on how to do Statistics online on Google Sheets.
